Your Sunday is not just another day; it’s a divine appointment.

The Audacity to Begin Again

Scripture: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

Do you ever wake up on a Sunday morning and feel the weight of last week’s failures? The missed goals, the harsh words, the moments where your faith felt paper-thin. It’s easy to carry that baggage into a new week, allowing yesterday’s defeats to define today’s possibilities.
I remember a season where every step forward felt like two steps back. I was praying for a breakthrough, but all I could see was evidence of my own shortcomings. I started to believe the lie that I was stuck. One Sunday, exhausted and discouraged, I read this verse again. “The new is here!” It wasn’t a suggestion; it was a declaration. It struck me that God’s mercy isn’t just a reset button we get to press once. It’s available every single morning, a fresh start offered with open hands.
God doesn’t see you through the filter of your last mistake. He sees you through the finished work of the cross. This Sunday morning is your divine appointment to let go of what’s gone and embrace what is new. It’s an invitation to have the audacity to begin again, not in your own strength, but in the power of His grace. Your past does not have the final say. The new has come. Walk in it.
Reflection:
What “old” thing from last week are you still carrying today?
How would you live this week differently if you truly believed the “new” is already here for you?

Prayer:
Father, thank you for the promise of new creation. Today, I choose to release the failures and regrets of the past. Help me to see myself the way you see me as new, whole, and righteous in Christ. Fill me with the courage to step into this week with fresh faith and a renewed sense of purpose. Amen.
